It is very important to recognize the food that you eat to avoid circumstance that will affect your health. And whole night discomfort or could endanger your life. Always cautious of what we eat. Learn to say no, no matter how we like the food because it might be delicious but not for our life. That is, if you value your life. One small mistake could lead to biggest mistake you ever had in your life. Because some of us are really violently reacting from food allergies.

I was in the restaurant with my husband in the countryside. It’s our first time in that area. I was just accompanying my husband who is going to interview the owner or the administrator of the hotel and resort where we were waiting. He is going to write an article about it as one of his projects for an expats newspaper.

It’s past eight o’clock at night already. We just arrived for three to four hours drive from Manila.

We ordered drinks first. I’m very choosy when it comes to fruit drinks like mango or pineapple. It gives me itchy rashes in my tummy, thighs or anywhere in my body. Same reaction to white wine or red wine or anything with alcohol. I don’t exactly know why but I suffer from redness marks or rashes which are very itchy. I don’t go to any doctor because I know that in two to three days, it will disappear. I just drink lots of water.

I’m getting hungry so I ordered fish teriyaki. By the time it arrived, I was really hungry and excited to eat what I ordered. I began chewing the delicious fish which I don’t remember what they call it. A few bite and I felt the sting in my tongue. I stared closely at the inviting fish on the table. Come on, I am not allergic to any fish, that was I kept telling myself that moment. But what’s wrong with me? I’m slowly feeling my face a little bit hot. I tried to calm down myself. Though I’m getting a headache all of a sudden. I asked my husband one paracetamol tablet. He always brings his medicine kit so it’s no surprising. That’s one thing I like about my husband. He thinks of everything especially when going to unfamiliar places like where we are at that moment.

I called the waiter and told him about the fish in a small voice to avoid disturbing others in that restaurant. He offered to change it into something else but I decline. I lost my appetite in that instance. I ordered calamansi juice with extra sweet. You know why? I learned from my mom that when I eat something and I get reaction same thing I did
